......that's what the weatherman just said on the radio. Only??? I'm freezing my patuty off! Of course, it didn't help that initially I was hot so I guzzled a liter of cold water. Now I can't warm up. But I've got my trusty hot tea. It's only a matter of time.

With the windchill factor ~ it'll be 30 below zero today. Yowza.

I'm halfway through the Jane Goodger book. It's really good ~ if you're looking for a decent time travel, pick this one up. Except, Jane doesn't seem to know the different between "their" and "they're". That's thrown me a few times, but I forgive her.

Last but not least, we wound up in the ER with kiddo again on Sunday. This is how her teenage mind works: She wanted to try snowboarding, so she took an old skateboard and removed the wheels and climbed to the top of the hill (street) in front of my sister's house. She got halfway down the hill before she hit the rock and went flying. Popped out her knee, but it popped back in; now it's filled with fluid/blood/and all sorts of general gooey ickiness. Her knee is 3 times the size of the other one. So, she's on crutches and will be for about 2 more weeks. I told her next time she wanted some quality family time, I vote we go to a movie instead. She replied, "Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time." And then in a quiet voice said, "It was fun while it lasted." She's currently making plans to try to skateboard down the same hill come spring. I told her we'd just go ahead and book the ER now. To quote Holly, *headdesk*.

I Feel So Old!
Did you know that David Nelson turned 71 today? You know, David, from Ozzie and Harriet? Granted, I only know this show through proverbial reruns, but he always seems so young to me. That just blows me away.

Weather Patterns
Today, it's 80 degrees. It's a beautiful day today and we've beat our record high. Tomorrow, it will be 65. And Friday? Oh Friday, it will be 29 degrees with rain and snow! (Just in time for the James Taylor concert, by the way). Saturday and Sunday? Back up into the 50's again. Bizarre. I just have to laugh. We have got the most bizarre weather.

Snow flurries likely by Friday? I'm prepared for snow by Halloween, but not at the beginning of the month! Ugh! I wanted to get new tires before the white stuff came.

Well, we got snow last night. Not a lot, but it's a combination of rain, snow, slush and general yuck which makes driving very interesting. It's pretty and it smells so wonderful outside, but I'm not looking forward to the drive home.

I finished reading the short story "Hot Toy" by Jennifer Crusie in the Santa, Baby anthology. It was cute ~ I chose to ignore the levels of ridiculous that were in the story and concentrated on Nolan and Trudy. They had great chemistry ~ I'll write more on this later.

I started reading The Pleasure Slave by Gena Showalter last night ~ it sucked me right in and I'm already on page 100. Great story so far. I love how Tristan pushes Julia's buttons.

Visit to the doctor yesterday went okay ~ all my bloodwork came back normal, so that's a relief. So now, I go back next week for a bone scan.

So, going to work this morning there was between an inch to an-inch-and-a-half of snow. The trees were beautiful, all covered in white. I was going to take a picture. It was just breathtaking.

Now, I look out my window and the sky is blue, leaves are falling and the snow has completely melted. This is Montana weather, folks. If you don't like it, wait a minute ~ it will change.

Can you believe it's snowing outside?! SNOWING!!! I'm so not ready. We usually don't get our first snow until around Halloween. I don't even have my storm windows up yet...more due to my own laziness than anything. I knew I should have put them up last weekend. I'm such a dummy sometimes.

I finished Montana Sky and will post my thoughts on it when I get home.

I love it when the weather gets cooler ~ the hot days are behind us for another year and now we're adapting to the autumn temperatures. What does that mean to me? Well, other than the fact that my house is no longer a sweatbox, it means it's time for my annual chilly chili day. I slow cook a big pot of chili all day long, make a big batch of fry bread, and have lots of cheese, green onions and sour cream to go along with it. You'd think making all that food I'd be serving an army, right? Well, wrong. It's just me. Usually my niece is with me when I make it, but not today. But regardless, I'm excited. The weather is finally turning!
