Life is too short to read a bad book.

Montana Sky
Well, I finally got around to watching the Lifetime movie "Montana Sky". Can I just say how disappointed I was with it? It was choppy, the romances were rushed, and it skipped a lot of the great parts in the book. Montana Sky was easily one of my favorite books last year and I was so let down by the movie version ~ John Corbett (yummy!) couldn't even save it for me.

I'm so with you there. So far the only movie that I enjoyed was Blue Smoke. I didn't like Montana Sky because the romances were, as you said, rushed and weren't even focused on really and neither was the building of the relationships between the sisters. They focused on the plot only and it definitely took away from the story. Bummed me out big time.

Anne ~ Exactly! That was the movie I was most excited to see because I'd actually read the book. It was a huge disappointment.

I haven't seen this one yet. Actually, the only one I have seen is Angels Fall. It was pretty good, but not fabulous. I didn't really like HL as Reece.

I wonder if I'll like MS more since I haven't read the book, though.

    ps. I've missed you. ;)

Holly ~ I saw bits and pieces of Angels Fall. I wanted to read the book before I watched it ~ now I'm not so sure that that's a good thing. Not if they turn a really good book into a piece of crap movie.

    PS ~ I've missed you too :-)

    HI DEVONNA! *waves like crazy*

good to see you back :) Well, I haven't seen the movies yet, but I think it was to be expected that MS wouldn't be as good as the book. I mean, there's three complex relationships in MS and the book was quite long. So it's pretty impossible to flesh out the three relationships in 1.5 hour. Perhaps if they've done a 3 parts movie or something like that, they might have been able to salvage it. Personally, they should have chosen another book....

Nath ~ I agree, they should have chosen another book ~ though I still had high hopes....silly me.

PS, I'm waving like crazy back.

Sorry I was gone so long ~ it wasn't intentional!

Hey!!! You're back!!! Did you know you won an award??? Head thee over to Mailyn's to find out about it. And by the way she's moved.
And I haven't seen them as they aren't being shown yet. When I heard Montanna Sky was one I kind of wondered since it's almost three in one, how they could do it. I haven't read Angels Fall - but I have read Blue Smoke and I'm curious about it. The one I really want to see is Carolina Moon since that's my fave of all the books to movies - and I think Oliver Hudson is cutest of all the heros :) See - I'm shallow

Hey Devonna, missed seeing you in blogland. Hope everything's going great :)

I haven't read the book or seen the movie. I'm more of a JD Robb fan than a Roberts fan. Sorry to hear it was so disappointing. I wonder how NR felt about it.

Hey Devonna!!! So glad to see you back. I think you had quite a few of us a bit worried. :o)

I kind of liked the movie, but I haven't read the book. Todd HAS read the book (that always cracks me up) and he wasn't so fond of the movie.

After reading ANGEL FALLS and loving it so much the cast was a big let down for me. I peeked at MONTANA SKY and decided not to watch it. I haven't watched BLUE SMOKE yet, but what I've seen looks pretty good. I'm with Kristie(j) on CAROLINA MOON. The casting is much more appropriate to what I imagined when I read the book than the other movies. It's the one I'm looking forward to most.

Good to see you back. Hope everything is well.

Hi Devonna! Good to hear from you! I was disappointed by Montana Sky too, which isn't surprising because it's my favorite NR book and when does a movie version ever live up to the book? John Corbett was the only good thing about it.

I liked Angel's Fall better, but didn't see the other two.

Hi Devonna! Welcome back :) Hope everything is ok!

I haven't read any of the books, and only watched a snippet of whichever one had Heather Locklear in it (bad, bad choice). The movies all conflicted with 24, so I didn't bother. And I think I'm the only person on the face of the earth without TiVo. so... oh well...
