What I Bought Today
So, what’s going on with blogger and has it been happening all day? I come home from a day filled with mostly book buying excited to share my finds with all my blogger friends and it’s not working. Is it just me or did the trouble start when blogger merged with google?

Well, here’s my list of what I found at the library sale. Well, most of them I found at the library sale. I did end up going to every UBS in town and buying myself a few more things when I was done. And I think I may have found a part-time job. At Barnes and Noble. Is that defeating the purpose of a second job? I’ll eat up all my wages buying more books. It’s a vicious cycle. I’ll know more about that probably by the 1st of November.

Blogger makes me want to chew nails...I swear! As for the books, that some haul you got there. You did great at the library. Those Karen Marie Moning books are addictive. I thought I was the last one to read LORD OF SCOUNDRELS...but I saw that on your list too.

BTW, COMMITMENTS by Barbara Delinsky is my favorite book of hers. Of course I haven't read it in years so I don't know if it will stand the test of time, but I adored that book when I first read it.

Have fun with your new books!

Rosie ~ I read Lord of Scoundrels a few months ago, but I got it from the library at the time. I've been looking for it ever since. :-) The sale actually started yesterday, but I was working so I missed the first day ~ there were still lots of good things today ~ makes me wonder what was there yesterday.

It's the next day - but wasn't Blogger a bitch yesterday!?!?!? I ended up going to be 2 hours earlier than usual 'cause I was mad at it!
Holy Camolie did you ever score!! LOL How did you carry that many books? Let's see - from all the books you bought which ones do I think are good Hmmm - While I have a number of KMM, I've only read a couple, I don't read Laurens and you've read LOS so it can wait a bit for a reread *g* - I LOVED Spring Fancy by Spencer. It's been a while since I read it so it might be a bit dated but I really loved it when I read it.
Oooh, Oooh - I see Captives of the Night by LC. I just recently reread that one and LOVED it. And Flowers From the Storm. Laura Kinsale isn't for everyone - but if you like her that one is a wickedly good one!

Kristie ~ They had boxes available. I started out with my little library bag and eventually it was full PLUS I was carrying a stack. I snagged a box while in the YA section because I felt like my arms were going to give out any minute :-)

I haven't read Laura Kinsale before but I'd recognized the title, so I snagged it. Captives in the Night is the first edition from 1994.

I am now looking at my living room and thinking "Okay, I can put bookshelves there, and there, and there." I called my Mom last night ~ she says I need a bigger place just for my books alone. I have a one bedroom now ~ she jokingly says I should just get rid of my bedroom and put my library in there.

I accidentally went to a charity book sale yesterday. LOL Being the epitome of restraint, I only bought three books. And they weren't as cheap as yours, but hey, IT WAS FOR CHARITY.

Happy reading, you got some good books. I've got a few of those titles in my TBR, so it'll be nice to see what you think of them. :P

  • At 11:09 AM, Blogger Dev

Ames ~ The trick is actually getting around to reading them! I'm going through my TBR drawers today and I've found a few duplicates. Hopefully I'll get over this reading funk soon and can actually put a dent in my piles.

Wow, Devonna... as Kristie said, you did score :D Man, lots of good books and so cheap... can't believe it, 0.25$ and 1.00$. Dream land. Tears of the Renegade by Linda Howard... hmm, never heard of that one... I recognize a few good titles and well, they're all good authors :D

as for working part-time at Barnes and Nobles, at least, you'll get a discount on the books :D You have to look on the brighter side :D but good luck, I wish you get the job.

Tomorrow is Mcgill Bookfair :D It'll be my turn to be going through books :D can't wait.

  • At 12:21 PM, Blogger Dev

Nath ~ I hope you find some good stuff. I'll look forward to hearing about your day!

On an aside ~ I'm still cleaning through my TBR drawers and guess what I found? Montana Sky by Nora Roberts. I almost bought it at the UBS yesterday. Wonder how long I've had it?

  • At 1:43 PM, Blogger ~ames~

Devonna, I was kind of forced to read yesterday. LOL I was watching my brothers while they were swimming and since I don't do swimming pools, I had to read or I would have been bored out of my mind. LOL

When I organized my shelves a few weeks back, I only came across one duplicate. It was Lori Foster's Jude's Law, I had one copy from the UBS and the other copy was a library book. :P

  • At 2:58 PM, Blogger Jennie

OMG, that's a lot of books! I'm way jealous. You must have gotten quite a workout carrying those all home. :)

Warning on Lady of Quality. I read that one recently and was disappointed by it. Just a little boring. And I've loved all the other Heyers I've read. Have you read any of her other books?

  • At 3:09 PM, Blogger Dev

Jennie ~ I haven't read any other Heyer books, although I have several of them on my wishlist at the library. I'd like to read a few of her others before I read Lady of Quality, I think.

Ames ~ I'm almost done organizing! Talk about an all day project. I've found a few more duplicates, but I think I'm done now. I've had a few surprises ~ books I didn't even know I had. Sad thing is I even catalogue my books on librarything. I have Jude's Law from the library right now ~ I'll read it eventually (I hope). Dang reading funk.

  • At 3:10 PM, Blogger Holly

OMG! Girl, you have some amazing reads coming up. I'm UBER jealous!

Have you read any of these before? If not, I envy you, getting to read them for the first time.

I'm off to pout now. :)

  • At 3:13 PM, Blogger Dev

Holly ~ Nope haven't read any of them except for Lord of Scoundrels. Now the question is, when will I get them read?

  • At 3:31 PM, Blogger Lori

    What a haul! Enjoy!

  • At 3:41 PM, Blogger Dev

Oops ~ I forgot I got Small Town Girl. I read that about 10 years ago.

Lori ~ Thanks! Now I just need to find some time to read.

  • At 5:23 PM, Blogger Stacy~

Wow, what a haul! How awesome.

I gotta read Lord of Scoundrels, no question. I just need to find it first....

I've read "Come Up & See Me Sometime" by Lucy; and "The Fulfillment" & "Spring Fancy" by LaVyrle Spencer and really enjoyed all 3 of them.

  • At 5:58 PM, Blogger Dev

Stacy ~ I hadn't read any of them except for Lord of Scoundrels and Small Town Girl ~~ oh and the few that I found out I'd already had when I cleaned out my TBR piles today.

Good on ya! I'm jealous too of that haul! Did you have a carrying case or shopping cart??!!

I can't wait to hear what you think of Linda Howard's westerns. People either love them or hate them ...

  • At 9:15 AM, Blogger nath

    Devonna!!! T_T

Turns out the bookfair is not today, it's on the 25th... so Wednesday! I was so eager to go!! Luckily, it's my friend who told me or not, I would have looked stupid showing up there when it's not even open :(

  • At 9:46 AM, Blogger Mailyn

Oh I so wish our library had a sale, or I would at least find a USB. Damn it I'm jealous! Ohhhh LoS!!!! Hehehe.

I loooooved Flowers From the Storm EXCEPT for the TSTL heroine. If you can read it as a story about the hero then, IMO, it's brilliant. Don' read it as a romance. I so wanted to strangle her!

  • At 9:50 AM, Anonymous Anonymous

See, I can't get into Kinsale. ::Shrug:: To each his own!

  • At 12:10 PM, Blogger Dev

Zeek ~ I usually like western romances, but haven't read one by LH yet. I separated my finds and my TBR piles yesterday and now have one stack that are books I have to remember to get to and another stack that I want to read but can wait on. I think the LH is in the stack I want to get to right away.

Mailyn ~ I haven't read Kinsale before ~ I think I have this book in my stack I want to read right away.

Nath ~ Well, it's only 2 days. I hope you find some great stuff! You'll have to be sure to post what you get.

Dylan ~ I haven't read any of them. It was a great day to get books. The library sale actually started on Friday ~ but I had to work. I keep wondering if these were there on Saturday, what finds did I miss out on on Friday? :-)

AG ~ I'm looking forward to reading it. I've separated my TBR pile into 2 piles ~ 1 is the "I've got to remember to read this soon" pile and the other is the "I hope I get to these at some point" pile.
