Life is too short to read a bad book.

Struggling
I'm really struggling to try and finish up Once a Rake. The book is good, don't get me wrong. It's just about 100 pages too long. And the conflicts just keep coming. One conflict ends, and instead of the book concluding with the much anticipated HEA, another conflict enters. And so on. And so on.

I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the bike yesterday. Today, I'll do either the 3 or 4 mile Walking Away the Pounds workout with Leslie Sansone (love her). Maybe 15 minutes pilates also, I haven't decided yet.

Totally agree - the book was about 5 conflicts too long. Her editor should have figured this out and drawn the line. That's why I said before that the first half was far better than the 2nd half :) Glad I'm not the only one with this problem!

Lori ~ Thank you!! I was beginning to think that maybe I was just being too picky. But goodness, get on with it already. I mean the chemistry is great between them, but there just always seems to be something. It's rather tedious. If she'd have stopped at around 300 pages or so, this would have been nearly excellent.

Who wrote this - it doesn't ring a bell. (I guess I could just read further down on your blog).

    Enjoy the movie!

Stacy ~ It's by Rona Sharon. We ended up not doing the movie today. My friend got called into work so we're going to try for next weekend sometime.

Oh thanx Dev, for the author.

You went and saw "Alvin & the Chipmunks" yesterday too, right? I thought it was cute. Did you like it?

No exercise for me this weekend. You are inspiring. Keep up the good work!

Nath ~ I can't. I'm too afraid I'd miss something. Probably another dozen conflicts or so :-)

Stacy ~ It was cute. Much better than I thought it would be. Loved Theodore!

Rosie ~ Thanks :-) I'm working on it. I want to get back to where I was before I took an extended vacation (ps ~ really shouldn't do that. Now I have to build up my endurance all over again)

but that's it, Dev. You read the resolutions for the conflicts and if it's intriguing, you go back and read the conflicts :) if not, move on to the next book.

Hi Dev! Just to let you know you have won the book! Please stop by my blog and read the full post. ;D

Nath ~ I finished it up last night. The last 50 pages or so weren't too bad :-)

Melody ~ Thank you! I tried peeking in this morning, but I couldn't open the page. Not sure if it was because of the server at work, but I will definitely visit tonight when I get home from work.

I've been reading 2 books that I am struggling with! I hate that, because like your header says - life's too short to read bad books!

Jodi ~ Completely understandable. Believe me, after last year's slump I'm just thankful to be reading anything at all!
